    Description

    COMPLETE "long block" powerhead assembly off the
    2004 Johnson 6 HP 2-stroke
    shown in pic #1.
    Good replacement for your worn-out 5 or 6 hp -
    direct swap for '91 and up but make sure your lower unit's drive shaft has same spline pattern as a 2004 model - check your motor's parts list against the one for that model year before purchase.
    You get basically everything except the recoil starter, carburetor, ignition, and flywheel;
    if you think you need anything else, ASK before purchasing as I've already sold off most of the accessories.
    Compression
    is excellent - tested 1/28 and
    each cylinder pumped up just past 100psi with 3 pulls
    of the recoil starter which I no longer have.
    I'm parting this trade-in motor as it came in missing the lower unit so it's worth more in parts
    .
    Note the powerhead will bolt onto an 8 hp but you will only get 6 ponies out of it;
    the 6 and 8 blocks are virtually identical but machined with different exhaust porting.
    Shipping is reasonable via FedEx Ground.  Thanks for looking.
    Note I have had a request for "more pic's" - I'm declining that at the moment - the powerhead is as stated - mechanically sound with good compression - 100psi is all you'd ever find on one of these motors - and ready to bolt on though replacing the gaskets and crank seals is at your discretion - I'd do it now with the powerhead off rather than wait for a failure - when a leak might occur is anyone's guess but with new gaskets it won't for a very long time.  Clean-up with wire brush and prime and paint will have it look spiffy.
    How else are you going to get your worn-out or blown-up JohnnyRude 6 back on the water for the proverbial Buck and a Half
    ?
    It sure won't happen at your local outboard shop!
