The Virtuous Husband, the 1931 Vin Moore romantic wedding screwball comedy ("from the play 'Apron Strings' by Dorrance Davis"; about a young man whose mother passed away and left him a trunk full of letters telling him how to court a woman; he follows her instructions exactly and wins a beautiful blonde, played by Jean Arthur, but he is a perfect gentleman, as his mother instructed him; but after they are married, he still doesn't touch his wife, again on his mother's instructions, who believes women prefer marriage that way, and it is only when his wife threatens to leave him and her relatives destroy the letters that he finally wakes up and realizes he has to be a real man and the movie ends with him passionately kissing his wife!) starring Elliott Nugent, Betty Compson, Jean Arthur, Tully Marshall, J.C.
